While he was classically trained in plein-air, Russian impressionist landscape painting, Steve has since defected and developed his own style of “American impressionism” taking artistic liberties. 🇺🇸

Steve’s muse for the past 10 years has been New York City, and more specifically Greenpoint, Brooklyn. He paints with a playful freedom that celebrates the city’s grit and artistic contributions like graffiti, murals and advertising. Meaning and memories are made every second in New York - That is the New York “energy” people are always talking about - THAT is what Steve paints.

While his traditional teachers and mentors may be shaking their heads, lovers of the greatest city in the world can't get enough of the way Steve sees and paints it.
